Regional Director William Zarit previously served as Senior Commercial Officer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Deputy Senior Commercial Officer in both Beijing, China and Taipei, Taiwan. Before joining the Commercial Service, Mr. Zarit was Economic Programs Officer with the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, New York. Prior to that he was based in Beijing with the U.S. telecommunications company Pacific Telesis International as Marketing Manager, a position he held after several years in Beijing as Project Manager with a U.S. high-tech marketing firm, China Business Associates. Previous to that position Mr. Zarit was a Mandarin Chinese interpreter escort for the U.S. Department of State Language Services.
Mr. Zarit earned an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. in Political Science from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
