Paul Walters
Vice President for Southeast Asia,
Boeing,

Paul Walters is vice president of Boeing International Relations, Southeast Asia, and is responsible for coordinating all company business activities in Malaysia and a number of the ASEAN countries in Asia. Based in Kuala Lumpur at the Boeing-Southeast Asia headquarters, Walters has oversight of Boeing activities in Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, with the mission to lead and facilitate Boeing's globalization process in Southeast Asia.

Most recently, Walters was Vice President for Asia of Boeing Space Systems International Service Company, the international marketing of Boeing Satellite Systems, and a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, based in Kuala Lumpur.

Walters retired from the Senior Foreign Service in 1995 to join the Government Investment Management Corporation as Managing Director for Asia. He joined Hughes Electronics International Corporation in 1996 as Regional Director Southeast Asia for Telecommunications Business Development. Boeing purchased Hughes Space and Communications in October 2000.

Walters' international experience began with his initial entry into the Peace Corps in Malaysia, then to the U.S. Agency for International Development in Vietnam. His career in the U.S. Foreign Service spanned a diverse range of senior commercial and economic assignments in U.S. Embassies in Kenya, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Indonesia, and as an International Economist in the U.S. State Department.

Walters graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ohio State University in 1966. In 1979, he graduated in an Advanced Course in Economics for the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Institute.

Walters was born June 16, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio.
