Carmine D’Aloisio

Carmine D’Aloisio has worked for the United States Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service for more than 20 years. Currently he is the Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the American Embassy in India. Prior to his current post, he was the Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs in Korea.
From November 2001 to July 2002 he served as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, International Operations. In that position, D’Aloisio was responsible for 1,100 overseas employees in more than 80 countries, including 250 American officers as well as locally-engaged staff.
From 1999 to 2001, Mr. D’Aloisio was the Regional Director for East/Asia Pacific, administering international trade programs in 13 countries in East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. His extensive overseas experience has included assignments in the Philippines, Thailand, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia (Riyadh and Dhahran) and Italy.
For his contribution to national security and economic interests after the liberation of Kuwait, Mr. D'Aloisio received the U.S. Commerce Department’s Distinguished Achievement Gold Medal Award in 1992. He also received the U.S. Commerce Department’s Gold Organizational Award in 1991, recognizing the USFCS Saudi Arabia team for support of American commerce vital to national economic interests.
Before joining the Department of Commerce in 1980, Mr. D’Aloisio worked as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill.
Mr. D’Aloisio has a BA in history from Suffolk University in Boston and an MA in international relations from The American University in Washington, DC.
