Michael Bobrove

Michael Bobrove is the Representative Director & President of Nihon Medrad K.K., the
Japanese subsidiary of Medrad, Inc., a position he has held since 1998. Medrad, Inc. is
a worldwide leading provider of medical devices and services that enable and enhance
imaging procedures of the human body and a two-time recipient of the prestigious
Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Medrad is a Bayer Healthcare Company.
Mr. Bobrove has lived in Japan for over twenty years both in Tokyo and Osaka, where
he has worked almost exclusively in the Medical Industry. Before joining MEDRAD,
Mr. Bobrove was Head of the Corporate Planning Department of Nihon Schering K.K.,
the former Japanese subsidiary of the global pharmaceutical company Schering AG.
He has also worked as a counselor in a Japanese psychiatric hospital.
Mr. Bobrove received his MBA in International Management and Marketing, from
Monterey Institute of International Studies, Fisher Graduate School of International
Business. He holds a BA in Psychology from Antioch College.
He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Capital Equipment Committee of the
AMDD (American Medical Devices and Diagnostics Manufactures’ Association), Board
Member of the Medical Imaging Consortium and a member of the Bayer Healthcare
Executive Committee in Japan. He previously served two consecutive terms from
2006-2009 as the Vice President of the ACCJ (American Chamber of Commerce in
Japan) and Kansai Chapter Head, Member of the ACCJ Board of Governors. He is also
an adjunct professor at Kwansei Gakuin University Business School.
He is fluent in Japanese and has presented around the world on various topics related
to Japanese business and the medical device industry in Japan.
